Leia is celebrating her birthday today (it’s next week). Everyone who didn’t come to this meeting definitely doesn’t get cake 🎂

Upcoming Trips

July 19th trip to Ladder Sinkhole -Marvin Miller

Caesar will be analyzing graffiti in Bexar Cave. Volunteers needed this Saturday 6/28 at 9am! No powerwashers allowed.

Trip Reports

Marvin, Chris Lauferty, Mio, and volunteers began surveying the caves located on Mio’s property.

Amy and Amber went a trip to Carlsbad Caverns and some other nearby caves. They almost became cave diver after it began to rain.

Today’s program is about Innerspace Cave by Nathan Summars. Following the program will be birthday cake!

Trip Chair

NSS Vertical Training this weekend, Fri-Sun. Cost is $90 if an NSS member, $145 if a non-NSS member. This training will be reoccurring (frequency TBD).

Marvin has a trip to Ladder Sinkhole in Bulverde on July 19th.

TSS has an office cleanup trip on July 12th (air conditioning!!!), followed by a trip to Whirlpool cave.

HydroGeo workshop upcoming on October 17th, 18th, 19th.

New Business

Marvin Miller requests a grant of $100 to produce Bexar Grotto promotional materials to put together a booth at Government Canyon’s anniversary celebration. Motion is called, seconded, and overwhelming voted in favor of Marvin.

Trip Reports

Marvin & Mio led a trip to Dinosaur Cave, where they explored many miles and eventually got stuck (because of his wetsuit).

Joe Mitchell & Matt Feibelman did their monthly cricket count and Robber Baron Cave, where no crickets were counted, but many frogs & invertebrates were counted, along with a raccoon.

Joe Mitchell also separately had a cleanup at Robber Baron Cave, and his wife continued to do the biological survey inside the cave. Cave is on track to reopen in September.

Tonight’s presentation is by Greg Passmore. His talk will provide a concise overview of 27 years of LiDAR-based cave scanning, featuring examples from well-known Texas caves.
